NSDAR Alabama Local (NSDAR)

The Alabama Society was established in 1894 and today there are over 4,000 members in 71 chapters across the state. Membership in the Society is open to any woman 18 years of age or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background who can document direct lineal descent from men or women who helped secure America’s Independence during the American Revolution.

The work of our society is carried out by our members through the activities of their chapters.
The Alabama Society is part of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. The DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s service organization comprised of over 185,000 women. Our mission is historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
